The Australian Labradoodle originates in Australia, where in the 1970's Wally Cochran bred a Labrador Retriever to a Standard Poodle in the hope of creating a cross breed that would be able to become a guide dog for a visually impaired woman who suffered from allergies to dogs. The first mating produced three low allergy puppies.

Since then the breed has been refined to create more consistent results in personality, coat and hypo-allergenic qualities.

Today's Australian Labradoodles are known for their gentle, sweet disposition. They are non-aggressive, intuitive, and their intelligence makes them very easy to train. They are great with children, and want nothing more than to please their families.

Our Australian Labradoodles are multi-generation and their pedigrees can be tracked back to the first Australian Labradoodles who were bred for service work.
